At the end of Road

Sometimes, its not about what you do in the process, but what is the end result.

It is not about the "Reactants" but the "final product".

You might start off with all the "ingredients" such as hope, effort, optimism, perspective!

But, it may happen that you dont get anything in return.

Hardwork doesn' t pay off, but maybe smart work does!

It is not the time, energy or stamina that has gone into making the thing work, but if at the end, all you get is discouragement!

Aah! I have seen too much of research world, but all I have come to realize is that, when at the end of 10-15 days of sheer hard work, you are all misty eyed..it doesn't feel good!

Maybe hardwork only makes it difficult to accept failure.

Life of a researcher is not easy at all...my sympathies!

I think once we put in our best, it helps to feel it was still worth it, whether or not the outcome is what we desired or not.
I know, it really is heart-breaking..., and feels so unfair, but life's like that..

Goodluck ROS. Don't get disheartened.

#Freako!
On second thoughts, "Do researchers have a life at all"?

#Hershey,
Yep@reminds me of the song "Complicated"
And you fall and you crawl and you break and you take what you get
And you turn it into
And you fall and you crawl and you break and you take what you get
And you turn it into

:)

Yeah, its difficult to accept that all the hard work you'd put in is gonna go waste but theres nothing one can do abt it. One should just stay positive that the next endeavour will be successful.

Btw, your fonts somehow make my Opera's feed reader go crazy :)

that is because you are not the only person whose work determines the output.

do your work. accept the rest.

Maybe hardwork only makes it difficult to accept failure.
true. but hardwork is our duty and failure or success, fate.

its okay to be hard on yourself

In todays 'Times of India'(Jan 4) there is an article with the heading "Searching for happiness? Just work hard". It talks about a research by Gothenburg University in Sweden which says that the happiness lies in a sincere effort, once you reach the target the significance of the target is gone.

You put in the effort, thats what matters.... you're having a ball TRYING to achive the targets, so am I... so cheer up! :)
